is this possible?

i have a gif program that requires microsoft avi, and rejects divx avi. window movie maker is the same, rejects the divx.

can someone reccomend a program to convert the files, or another method.

any helps much appreciated.

Cut out the small piece of video you need, with for example virtual dub, TMPEG encoder, or similar, and save the selected video as uncompressed avi (to preserve image quality. If the piece you cut out is too big, the uncompressed avi will become huge).

anyone know how to make a normal .avi play in a divx player?

For TylerDurden, I use Virtualdub with XviD codec.
