It kind of did! since the end of the 70's! But not in the form as we know it today! It was more text transfer, bank transfers and similar stuff like that. Most used for businesses. Military had something similar though! some kind of Intranet.
And radio, off course was old skool internet, sort of

Tattoos have been around for 1000s of years haven't they? Nothing new there, trust me I had to do some editorial writing on that subject, so boring.
But wow, it's weird, I remember when the internet was this new thing and my dad had it on his laptop from work that he would sometimes bring home as a treat for me and my sister to go on kiddies websites like Blue Peter. I remember, I had to download a 1.2mb game, you couldn't stream it off the website, it took the piss to load on the old dial-up.

I remember how to do searching before the age of Google!!
I first got the internet in 1997. At that time, the content of the internet was very different. It was pretty boring comparet to today. The craziest things were chat, hotmail, and mp3 downloading.
Yahoo looked something like this:
http://web.archive.org/web/199706301154 ... yahoo.com/
It was sooo fugly...
Anyone remember this from '99?

who hasnt stared at that program for ages, waiting for 4mb to transfer in 20 minnutes? oh yes.
