Right, so I was thinking something along the lines of making these downloads a bit easier in terms of posting material, search options, etc. because we really do have a shitload of material available for download scattered all over the download sections of the forum.

The idea is pretty simple, however, the realization of the same may not be. Basically, lets make a website that would contain all of the downloads we have - catalogued. Links via Rapidshare may remain if a hosting server is out of the question. So, lets make a website with the first page containing only the login and password option. Each member of this forum is given a user name and password after which he/she can access the database which would include the search option, catalogued tracks and download links.

Anyway, what do you all think?

But everybody's quite used to the way of downloading from this forum.
Some people hate Rapidshare tho, I can't figure out why.

It's a good idea but I'm not gonna be the one that will create the site,
as I have no knowledge whatsoever to become of help.

A FTP Server would be that best answer for everybody! Maybe someone here with great upload speed can host something like that from his/hers computer!

What about some sort of private BK p2p? Something like gigatribe or waste. Wouldn't be a matter of time before someone tries to sue or get whatever site we make taken down?

In my mind when I upload here it's as if everyone here is a friend that I would let borrow whatever cd/vinyl/mp3 I have. That's just my 2 cents.

yeah somthing like this would be awesome, but its risky with all the clowns shutting the sites down, if we were gonna pull this off, we'd need some kinda protection like the downloads section has where u need to have a certain amount of posts.

the system were using at the moment is good, and it keeps on being good indeed, but if were gonna try make it better we would need some heavy protection to make sure some of us don't get done with fraud and these forums and the whole of bk gets shut down, that would really suck.

so i guess we should put alot of thought into it and perhaps come up with some plots to make sure its not just a case of signing up and getting downloads, once we have a decent enough plan that will insure safety to everyone, not just bk and tim and the site but everyone who uses music downloads, because it would be a disaster if that happened to anyone here.

if its to much of a risk that anyone could get done or the site could get done we can't let it happen, the system we have for dl's is good and if we have to keep using it to prevent people getting fucked up then i'd prefer to keep it like it is now until we have a perfect plan

just had an idea for a searchable data base of all the music that we have on our hard drives and elsewhere. you could do a search and then request it from the person who has it.

after then realising how hard that would be to actually get sorted, i gave up on it as a bad idea lol
