Grinny Grandad at Fibbers in York a couple of weeks back! They sounded tight, loud and solid - was highly impressed. :)

Just got back from Underworld in Atlanta. Best concert I've ever been to. It beat Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers (and those were mighty high bars!)

Just got home from Greenfest Moscow - Fatboy Slim, Leeroy, Groove Armada.

Leeroy has rocked as always, and he have played Spitfire (!!!). Fatboy SLim has played a lot of house music but despite this his set was very bright. Groove Armada sucks.

Yesterday I was at the PROJECT REVOLUTION Tour wich combined 3 gigs in Berlin / Germany and here is my review:

N.E.R.D.:
-----------

I never heard of them before and the only thing I know was, that it is a hip-hop combo. But I was wrong, cos I expected maybe 2 guys with a mic and a third one behind the turntables. No - this really was a band playin their owen instruments. 2 Drums [reminds me on FLINT], 1 keyboard, 1 bass, 1 e-guitar and 2 MC´s .

Music was a good mix between hip-hop, funk, oldschool-metal, Jazz and they were very funny guys and like Prodigy in old days they took people from the audience on to the stage [one girl nearly lost her pants while entering the stage...]

Between some songs it was funny, cos the german audience cries "Finale .... Finale...." and the MC doesn´t understood it until one of the audience guys on stage explained it to him.... Yeah - germans Like Soccer !

All in all it was a good and nice surprising gig imo and the mood was excellent.

HIM:
-----
A work-mate of me who absolutely likes, loves and lives Finland-Rockmusic told me, that HIM was good and he isn´t it any more. And now I can approve her opinion.

That guy Ville Valo entered the stage with a cigarette in his hand, went to the mic and never leaved it until the show ends after 1 hour. What a boring gig, the band is too good and too hard for this weak guy. I mean - the drummer wore a SLAYER T-Shirt.

Ville seems to be pissed or stoned, cos between the tracks he tries to talk to the audience in broken words and lughed like ELVIS on his last gigs.

I will not say, he can´t sing, but he destroyed his own talent with strange noises he sometimes make during singin. I guess he is tired of his own music.

I don´t now the track names of HIM, but I know that one track was perfomed LIVE totally different to the album version and I prefered the Live version. That and the last track were the only two Highlights of the show, cos the last track was a cover of Billy Idols "Rebell Yell" wich he performed very good.

The audience was bored of all of his tunes except these two ones I told about. Mood was in the cellar and Ville doesn´t care about it. No contact to the audience - poor and lame.

The funny thing is: It was a gig were all 3 bands were announced and I didn´t have seen anyone wearing a HIM-T-Shirt or a Heart-O-Gram.

Where are all the HIM-Fans ???

Totally: It wasn´t extremly bad but HIM is a mood killer. He should have performed as first and not as second part of this show.

LINKIN PARK:
----------------

I´m not a Linkin Park Fan, but still like some of their tunes. I never heard their last album but I wanna see how they are in a live performance, cos there were different opinions about them. And now I said "Okay, after years - i wanna see them live" and I wasn´t disappointed.

It was a good live performance and they are in good contact to the audience. Tracks sounds good, but the only thing what disappointed me was that there were no small elements to keep those old tunes fresh and not outdated. They made some new intros and bridges to the tracks, but they don´t do that between the tracks. I missed some extra elements.

That´s something I really thing is the best thing, Liam does with the older Prodigy tunes.

Concert also was really short - 80 minutes, but OKAY. Album No.1 was 40 mins, the 2nd one was only 33 mins as far as i can remember. But they didn´t play LIVE only tracks.

So - it was a state of the art gig - great, loud, rockin, a good light show and a good performance. It was worth to see it but it wasn´t the best gig I´ve seen. Metallica was really really better.... and nothing beats the Prodigy!

My Top 3 in concert:

01 - Prodigy
02 - Metallica
03 - Rammstein
