I remember looking at this topic, last year, but not putting where I am from
I'm from Québec, French-speaking province of Canada inside a (widely!) English-speaking North American continent
main city is Montréal (population around 1,800,000), the *metropolis* with (I think) the lowest temperature average in winter in the world
in September I'll be moving to Québec (the province's capital of the same name - population around 500,000), which just this year celebrates its 400 years old (1608-2008)
(should be known that the province was called after the city, and not the opposite)
but as for right now, I'm living in some little 35,000 population suburb, which has not too much to talk about...
huhh, we got a Wal-Mart, a regional airport and a library

still live in Landgraaf with my mama
BUT, this tuesday going on my own at last (wéééé)
Heerlen, city next to Landgraaf, it's a bigger town:
this is the best building in Heerlen
Glaspaleis aka Crystal Palace
In 1995, it was declared a National Monument for the purpose of historic preservation In 1999, it was put on the list of the 1000 most important buildings of the 20th century by the International Union of Architects during their World Congress in Beijing. [list=]
Rest of the town isnt that nice, you have a nice square behind the glaspaleis with pubs, lot's of shops and malls. Most buildings are new, town itself dates from the Roman Empire, Coriovallum, there was a nice bath they digged up after WWII.
Heerlen Rulez~!
