I did a quick search but couldnt seem to find anything on this subject so appologies if this has been found before

I was just reading through and American properganda history book and found this poster made by a famous French artist

recognise the typeface ;)

That would explain why the 'g' looked so shit, as it was drawn to look like the rest of the font

Anyway im a designer and found that interesting lol

great find im always interested in these little things, kinda makes me get into the way the band works and finds inspiration. i think there was some info that they were into ww2 posters during that time

Yeah it was a complete flook of a find but definately always good to see where inspiration comes from, i instantly recognised it!

Along the same lines, the square logo;

is the same typeface as that used on WW2 American bombers. Same with the star. It's actually inverted, the star is white over a blue circle on the planes.

It's probably the same plane behind the guys in the background, a Boeing DC3.

See the 45 degree cut off corners on the letters?

Maybe I should have said the Prodigy version is a variation of the WW2 typeface. But essentially it's the same.
