i have 256mb ram too.and so far the vista pack i found works good.except it doesn't have the glass look.i had to install another program to get that. i wonder if there's any 3d flip for the windows on the desktop like vista has.
hei coglesz what's that on the second picture on the botom?you don't have a task bar but minimized windows?do you get that with your version of the vista pack?

None of the themes work for me They just turn the toolbars and start menu old school and display a solid color background. Fucking Windows.

after the vista pack finishes( i recomend the second one) you must restart the pc an then go to control panel-display-apearence and select what you want.
and the others royale theme and co are easy to instal aswel.keep working at it you'll get it

ps. try to run the computer in safe mode when you install it,and i recomend the vista inspirat pack cause it includes the royale vista pack too, an object dock(you can switch off), cool icon effects, and a glass look taskbar(you can switch off)
if you have 256mb ram it will work decent, if you have 512mb or higher you are set.
also you can download and instal ,,VISTA MIZER''. it gets the job done too, changing the look of of xp into vista, but personaly i preffer now the vista inspirat pachage.

Thanks for the help Pinhead, I ended installing WindowsBlinds and now my desktop looks awesome. Black start menu and taskbar and vista icons and folder display.

how do you get that aero glass effect on vista basic??

For that 3D flip effect, download WinFlip for example.

you can close anytime the aplications for transparency or transtaskbar, objektdock and sidebar and stay only with the basic vista black theme.
by the way the vistamizer aplication withc also makes your pc look like vista has a a basic black theme and a different aero look to windows.

so in the end use the vista inspirat program with the transparency program, and if you want a vista like sidebar instal thoosje sidebar from thoosje.com

dams this is awfull.i selected the highest texture and still the windows look like shit.i don't know if it's because of my grafic card or else
