check if the laptop has the XP drivers on the manufacturer website. had a laptop from a client last month, a Dell made for vista only, couldn't find the fucking xp drivers yo!
as he wanted xp on it at any cost, had to install it without the audio and video drivers.

yeah, the drivers are what will give you headaches. my mate did the same thing and it took ages to get the video, wireless, and cam working.

you can set it up as a parallel operating system, and then can use either xp or vista. that way you can use xp for regular use, and vista for videos, etc...
bit of a crap solution i know, but at least you can still have everything working...

have a dig around in the forums for your model of laptop and you'll find other people who've done it. they'll be able to help you with what drivers to install, and if you're lucky, will upload them for you ;)

I don't understand why people hate Vista. It is alright as compared to XP. I do hate office 2007 as compared to XP.

So for me, is Vista + Office XP = :-D

it's not about how it looks.it's because of the resources it eats, and the bugs it has.many of the harware producers don't make hardware for vista to run smoothly,so even if you have a 2gb ram and a dual core at 3ghz you have problem with vista eating too much resources
