So browsing through Beatport tonight I came across some standard Prodigy tunes and remixes but then one caught my eye.
There's a band called Speaker Junkies, they've got an EP called Tekno Slut, it's released on AcropolisRPM Records. I've looked it up the label and this band are legitimate.
There is a track on the EP called Blow Yo Mind (Prodigy Remix). It's definitely not the rapper Prodigy either so that rules out that confusion.
The whole cat# information is:
ARPMS75023
it was released the 5th of April, 2006. It has that post AONO/The Shadow sound, along with his acidy sound which is heard around halfway through the track.
Perhaps everyone knows of this already, or Liam was one sneaky fucker.
I questioned it at first but it does have Liam's AONO electro'ish sound, and every release off there for Prodigy is the real deal, they even have the Cut 'n' Run Breaks Mix Deekline and Cut 'n' Run did "Outta Space".
Tracking down the information is hard but I see no reason to believe it's fake as it's post leaving XL, they no longer have to hold to that label to release now since they are pretty much free agents.
I'm very curious now...

I remember reading 'bout this tune on Neko a while back...
IT's NOT BY THE PRODIGY!!! It was probably just named that way in order to confuse people...

Well let's put it this way. I'm not saying it is Liam and I'm not saying it isn't...
The facts are..
The band in question for the remix is a real band, the label is a real label, and the remix from Prodigy doesn't come off some random p2p program (SLSK, Lime, etc, etc)
It does sound simple, but if you look at the breaks scene since 2004 it's been quite simple. If anyone is looking for that massive Experience era or big beat remix, they may be in for quite a shock. This is off one of the world's biggest sites for many labels, XL, Moving Shadow, etc, etc.
I'm not saying this is Prodigy, but it's not the Crystal Method for sure.
I know Arie keeps track of as much as he can and he's quite good at it. Unfortunately we're in a new era and a couple of my friends outnumber even him in Prodigy release information. (No offense Arie I have massive respect for you!) Right now I can state a couple of facts, to which unfortunately add air to the situation.
1) Liam has released tunes outside of the Prodigy name and has laughed about it and said he won't say what they are or anything else.
2) Liam hasn't remixed much since Jilted. Fans expected alot from AONO and were in a deadlock split decision on what they thought. Who here can say what Liam would sound like in a breaks mix or anything else?
Until Liam himself addresses this, we can't say it's not him, but we can't say it is either. If it's not him then we have to take the issue up with the band, label, and Beatport. Beatport isn't some 2 bit tune seller, they deal with the best and the little known.
This is no Crystal Method tune, it doesn't even sound like it. Not even Chemical Brothers. It sounds closer to Liam's Shadow, and tunes by Leeroy.

In times of confusion, always check the "Is this track real?"-tread first

But in this case it has the "prodigy" name to it, so that wouldn't exactly make it a secret now would it?
I suggest you contact Arie and ask how he knows that this remix is a known fake. I don't think he would label the track fake just because he THINKS it's fake. He's a man who checks his facts.

I would strongly disagree. Though I do trust Arie and his contacts, Arie doesn't have a 100% complete discog of Prodigy. Nobody ever will. Even the friends I mentioned don't have a 100% completion of Prodigy's releases and they have alot more than Arie has listed. I like Arie and respect him, I am in no way putting him down. The fact is nobody mentioned this until now that I can recall, and now that I have everyone wants me to consult Arie, and what for? Arie is not Prodigy's hired discogropher. The man is wicked I will give him that. He has more contacts to Prodigy than I for sure. But if Beatport is lying then we have a legal issue, and they seek to make sure these things don't happen.
As I said, this isn't some p2p download, this is straight from a top dealer. If they are lying then who can you trust? Prodigy have left XL you don't know Liam's remixing style since the mid '90s. So who is to say this isn't legit?
I will only accept Liam's response. Anyone else can drag up anything or pretend after all this is the internet... lol

If those friends of yours have a more complete and up to date list of releases, I'd love to see it!

You see, this is where you are wrong. If you check the "Is this track real?"-thread, you can see that this track is listed. And Arie's post was last updated "Apr 04, 2007", so this track has been known for a while. Like I said, contact Arie and ask him HOW he can claim that this is a fake Prodigy remix. At least ask him first.

From a quick listen to their music on their website http://www.speakerjunkies.com/ I'd say they'd have to be holding Liam's family hostage to get Liam to do a remix for them. Speaker Junkies are American. Why would Liam have come into contact with them? Not because of the quality of their music. If I was the Speaker Junkies I'd make damn sure the world knew I'd got Liam Howlett of The Prodigy to remix one of my tracks if he had.
The word "Prodigy" used in their 'Blow Yo Mind (Prodigy Remix)' is probably just using the word prodigy rather than naming who remixed it. Quite a few tracks have been called the "Orbital" remix when they had nothing to do with Orbital. I believe The Orb called a few remixes the Orbital mix.

I did mention it around 2006. I even bought the track at the time, and then it was Arie that told me the remix was fake/had fake name!
