I say Fat Of The Land is second best album of all time after Jilted. That's out of every musician ever. Yes Prodigy is by far my fave, but that's why I'm on this forum...

I expect another surprising album of Liam, Keith and Maxim - an album that surprises me in kind of - wow, soemthing new and it has the prodigy vibe in it.

I don´t want to be pessimistic but I guess IMD will enter the charts here like AONO does - maybe place 20 and leave it again after one week. And if I play the album on work I bet a lot of people will ask, which band this is and I will say: "It´s the prodigy´s new album!" and then there will be reactions like "What ? They have a new album?" or "Who are they?"

I wish the best for the prodigy, but the music industry changed during the last years. It doesn´t matter if IMD will be the worst or the best album prodigy ever has done.

Success ever has something to do with the society in moment, too - not only if an album is good or bad promoted. If you take a look into the charts, you could vomit, what kind of crap is successful here and there are dozens of bands which are way better without being in the charts. It´s not only music industry, same happens to film industries.

TV shows like Popstars, Starsearch and other casting shit destoys the whole music industry and promote the biggest shit to the world. It´s like leading the society what someone has to like / love and what not. The problem is, the society doesn´t notice it.

I.E. There are autogaph-sessions with self-titled "stars" they never were successfull, cos they never got an single or album out, they just appeared on those fuckin shows for 2 minutes - that´s it. And those peoples get famous ??? Sometimes I think, what´s wrong in the world ?

A few people give a shit on it and they now, what good music and art is - most times those are people from the older generations. Listen to oldies from the 70´s and compare them with shit from today.

Another point is the internet today. Why buying an album if you can have it for free ? That´s the point a lot of people doesn´t see. Else there are too many people who like good music from good artists, but they don´t have the money to buy all the albums of their artists.

... OMG - got too far off-topic !

What I wanted to say is:

Electronic produced music isn´t as famous as rock-guitar music in moment here, it doesn´t matter, if it contains punk rock elements or not. So I see no chance the prodigy will reach a level like in old FOTL days. They deserve success and I hope I´m wrong....

The good thing thats happened in the last few years is that not as many people pay that much attention to the charts any more, I'm sure the industry does but who gives a fuck. Prodigy has enough fans to pay the bills and their music gets rinsed (not as much moby was) in tv promos and music beds because creative people who commission that stuff love their music and as long as liam and co maintain their current quality level their sorted. I enjoyed AONO, its not as good as FOTL but its still a great album and Hopefully Invaders will surpass that...

Now that i heard WOF, WD, Run, Omen, Comanche, Stab,
Mescaline, Dead Ken, I can say that this album will be min. as banger as FOTL.
I just can't believe how good these tunes are.
I believe that IMD is the worst track from IMD.

a lot of people on here were too young to understand the hype of fat of the land and the release of firestarter breathe etc, listening to it now is fair enough etc but its different now, its hard to explain the impact this record has, reading reviews etc isnt the same, to be in it is where its at.. thats not there fault but to try and say that imd will match or better fat of the land is crazy talk... the prodigy were at their peak at this time..94 to 97... people need to stop talking about the past, we will not get tracks as good as what we have had, take the tracks for what they are but for fucks sake dont compare it

you're right,i think it's useless to compare this musical era to 10 years ago and more, also if i personally prefere the 90's.

Maybe you're right. :-D Then I will compare it to AONO cos I have to compare it to some older Prodge stuff, I can't manage my thoughts.
And AONO is not that old. 5 years in 'Prodigy' is not that much I think.

Everyone will say that Prodigy is Prodigy, but I can say that Prodigy is Drum and Bass again!!!
AONO hasn't even any sign that the Prodigy would be dnb.
Ok, I know that its not dnb but if we must say some genre and if we dont say 'Electronica' its drum and bass.

Wouldn't you rather say Bigbeat instead of Drum and Bass? I mean, Drum'nBass, to me, (please tell me otherwise if I'm wrong) has a typical rythm in it... I mean, the base of D'nB. The same kind of rythm found in Voodoo People (Pendulum Mix), or, let's say, LOADS of Roni Size tracks. Drum'nBass isn't well-known for it's sophisticated rythms and patterns... Something Prodigy DOES have.

I'd say prodigy is more Bigbeat than D'nB.

 I didn't even think about it.
Yes, dnb bands are Black sun empire, Noisia, Concord Dawn,...etc.
You're right.

Prodigy is Drum and Bass?..... uh.... you guys don't know much about musical genres, do you?

But anyway, I have incredible expectations for this. I got seriously into Prodigy in the AONO era. I loved the album. I listened to it all the time, but looking back.. AONO really sucked. It was not what the fans were waiting for and felt very very phoned-in. None of the tracks aside from Spitfire really hold up for me... and I'm talking about the 2005 re-edit! (the live show seems to reflect this, too).

I got FOTL after AONO, and a big chunk of FOTL still holds up today. I listened to it the other day, and I still love it. I want IMD to be like that for me 10 years from now. I want my future girlfriend to complain that I listen to it too much. I want to be on this forum, ranting about how they'll never top IMD with their new garbage. From what I've been hearing of the new tracks so far... I think this might actually become my favorite Prodigy album.
