hey guys my pc is shit, getting more ram for it, was hoping to get around 4 gb out of it as there is 4 ram slots on my pc.

the make of my current ram is a Hynix 256mb 1Rx16 PC2-4200U-444-12

now i heard that any ram which is PC-2400 will work but i just want to quickly comfirm this.

could u tell me if a couple of these ram chips would work, i need to ask here because thanks to the last time i baught ram i ended up losing my old pc.

was hoping to buy 2 or 4 of these but of the same kind depends if there 2gb ram chips each, i have to options here and i want to know what ones would work or fuck my pc or what one is best.

you need 240-pin DDR2 4200 533Mhz memory
the first link i would say as the second link there's a ram for notebooks

i tryed to buy a better ram a year ago,2 gb but couldn't find any.they said that for my computer there are only 1 gb ram available and that the it's double price then the current 1gb ram they make today.witch is weird cause on my tech book for my pc it says it could handle 4 gb ram.
so i'll buy a new system in january to fit my needs

Colin, before buying any ram, check whats the maximum amount of modules of ram your mother board supports (its useless buying 2 modules of 2 GB, qhen your motehr board only supports 2 GB). use that little program i sent you to check whats the motherboard and go google with the name of it. any help you know how to find me

right cheers for the help bk and dee and others :D, i found a website that has a program that scans your system then directs you to a page on your web browser for the right ram, i've got 4 slots for ram each can take 1gb so i selected that option and it will be here on tuesday :-D


if im not here on tuesday, you know whats happened..................... :lol:

If you have Windows XP, you don´t need 4GB, cos it can´t handle it. Maximum is 3GB ! :wink:

yeah , i think win xp 64 bits ed. handles 4gb
