OK...I'm new here so go easy....
I play guitar in Jilted and just wanna clear some shit up here.
Right, I think maybe there have been some crossed wires over this free party business.... we thought that the free party we were asked to do was on a different day, which would mean another trip to Scotland, and we would then treat it as another gig.
Of course it stands to reason that if we're there already, we wouldn't be needing fuel money or accomadation as we'd already HAVE the fuel covered and be booked into a hotel from the original gig.
Secondly, as a couple of people rightly pointed out, why shouldn't we charge a fee for a performance? Just cos we're a Prodigy tribute then WE should be footing the bill for the privalage of coming to scotland and playing at a free party? To be honest, £700 plus expenses is cheap for a tribute band these days.
There's obviously a lot of ignorance as to what we do actually entails, it's not just dressing up and putting on a cd. We do it near enough the same way as the real band do it. Sparky (Liam) has rebuilt all the tunes in Ableton Live and runs them from laptops, then there are hard synths and samples played in real time on top of that. We have a live drummer and myself playing guitar. I myself use 4 differently tuned guitars over a 90min set, same as Rob does, so..if we were some kinda mime act...why bother with all the expensive gear? Gear that needs maintanance, replacing when it gets broken. We have a van that needs keeping on the road, servicing, tax, insurance, MOT's.....
But we're the bad guys here cos we don't play for nothing?
OK...fine.

Oh cheers T4YH!!
Who are these scottish plums tryin to make us look bad for playing Prodigy music for money?
Now I see where your coming from with the free party stuff, bit wrong for people to charge innit!but if we're getting booked .. 5 lads with alot of live equipment to play in some muddy field.we see ourself as a professional band.it would cost us alot to come from the west midlands anyway.
I thought you were Prodigy fans, Where's the respect for us, we're the only Prodigy tribute band in the world,is it wrong to have Prodigy as a tribute band seen as there the best live act in the world and there are tributes to many other bands.
We've done festivals against these bands and rocked it for the Prodigy name.
We do NOT play cd's we are a full band.We DO play the Prodigy's instrumental backing on ableton all mixed up with live synths...just like they do!!we are as live as them with our full band.
We've met the boys,We've played with Gizz Butt twice they know all about us and we've had no grief, nothing but respect..if only we could get it off certain fans..
On NYE we're playin the Carling Academy in Scotland for Fantazia...so we're booked in a wicked venue for a big event for alot of fans,we feel more at home doin that then playin in a cold muddy field with a pilled up 'sound engineer'
Here's to the Prodigy and ours and their real fans!! Respect

A little off topic but the Prodigy covers on your myspace sounds alright, nice guitars and drums. I don't like the vocals much, especially on 'Spitfire', but there only 1 Maxim and Flint so what can you do.

Hahaha well..yknow it's all fun n games!
Cheers for the nice comments tho...glad ya liked Cashtrip.
The prodigy tunes were a bit of a rush job really, we only had half a day's studio time and needed a demo for a couple of potential bookings, turned out good in the circumstances so we fired them up there!
BTW we do the new Firestarter live now...with the Minor Threat bit in the chorus! I do a mixture of Rob's guitar parts and the riffs that Gizz tought me which he'd written for the song

Messed with some of it but Jase (Maxim) isn't keen on doin it til it's out...we'll talk him round tho! Got a few to choose from now.
Heard them Molotov Beats remixes....they sound decent like!!
It's a shame that xylophone bit's been put in Omen cos Beat 55 was a wicked fill!

haha, he'll come round, he'll have to, its the future! yeah, the drums from beat 55 are used in it a bit aswell, they couldve put another breakdown in there rather than using that, but it sounds good, wouldve liked something else though i think.
hehe, i bet molotov beats is glad you like his remixes

the jilted gen are actually pretty good. i dont see them around on many forums anymore, but i used to chat to jase a bit a couple of years ago. i think that they do a pretty mean job of recreating the prodigy!
but the freeparty thing i think sounds like a bit of miscommunication.
