So today I was at work buzzing through the boards...
like i'm normally not suppose to do,
since i'm at work...

and I thought to myself,
wow, the New Year is almost upon us.
2008 is coming to a close.

I can remember the first ever release of the Music From The Jilted Generation series here on the Brainkiller forums in 2003.

That was five years ago.
A generation of bedroom producers trying to bring the toughest and hardest beats. When all we wanted to do was make music simply for the fun and sheer enjoyment you get of making a beat one day and sharing it with your friends around the world the next.

During that period, from 2003 until late 2005, I had been working on the first NEOREV album "Traveling At A High Velocity On A Downward Trajectory."

As you may know, my computer fried and I lost most of the data, except for a batch of first mixes and demos. Well, I figured it's been fucking five years. An anniversary of sorts, at least for me. I held back putting stuff out. I was a little self-conscious about my music. Trying to perfect my own style. But I said fuck it. I just wanted people to get to hear it.

So I've finally gotten around to digging through the salvaged material and put together the building blocks of what was to be the first NR release. A breakbeat dance infused industrial journey. From the old school to the new school.

I actually put together the entire album plus an additional album's worth of material, including remasters, alternate versions, and binned ideas.

Three years worth of blood, sweat, and good times.
When BK Music One was in its prime.
When it was just about having a grand ol' time and buzzing with the music.

Some friends I met along the way:
Balters Dream, Shaper, Grinny Grandad, Aquila, High Voltage, Lothario, Jesse Gorter, Raffy, Supersonic Army, Frequen-Cee, Darkwave...
Subwoofer...
hey,
speaking of,
some go off to be photographers or designers or some shite when they were making killer ass dirty bomb beats.
just fucking with ya Spoz, loved ya work, miss ya mate.

Respect to the Brainkiller Crew, The NekoBeats Crew, and the Music Playground Crew. May the beats be plentiful in the New Year.

Yes, YES! Crank This Shit Up, it was my anthem of Vol1... :) I'm happy to see it on the album, even if it's an old track now. I will listen to this once it's downloaded, curious what it's all about. I'm happy that of the BK artists some of the better ones continued what they were doing with BK... music! I remember downloading the mp3s... burning them to disk and sitting on the floor of my bedroom with my headphones on. 'It has to start somewhere... it has to start sometime...' ;) I'm always interested in new BK music. Even bought Devolved's albums hehe. I also met some great artists on BK, some of them became good mates. Great community, and I'm sure your album is a welcome addition to the legacy. Cheers!

shit, forgot about Last.fm

i'll also throw it up Reverbnation now that i think of it.

yeah i found my data disc that i made luckily right before the crash and it had a shitload of material from that era.

too bad i lost all the separate wavs and sounds.
this was as far as i got at that time.
raw first mixes, demos, and whatnot.
i even got a few more tunes lying around on burnt CDs i gotta dig thru still.

bought a new laptop in '06 and started from a clean slate.

i'm also gonna look for my CD when i went under the alias The Hypnotic Impulse, pretty much spans from 2000-02. it's even more amateur sounding, but i still get a kick out of it. i put it up a while back on the BKM1 boards secretly and got a decent response. it's meant to sound from the old school days, which was what most people praised or put it down for, but that was the point.

fun fact:
yeah, when the first Music From Jilted Generation contest was announced, someone who entered went under the name Hypnotic Circulation and i thought that was too close.

so i changed it to NEOREV, a name i had on the back burner for a couple years. so i figured this was the first step to a new start. and i went with NR.

enjoy folks,
ah, memories...

the response is amazing guys, i'm glad you are all enjoying it.

i wish i did release this back in the day when BKM1 was buzzing.

i always second guessed myself and kept thinking i could make it better at the time.

but this is a part of my history as NR and felt it should see the light of day.

let me know if the download links expire.

will reupload immediately.

thanks to everyone for the support,
-NR-

keep rockin'

updated the links guys before they expire.

coming in January of the New Year, i have put together an additional CD worth of material from 2003-2005...

yes, i know... even more music.

it will include alternate versions, original mixes, cut tracks, my collab with Chasm, and my Subwoofer remix along with my revisit of my abandoned Grinny Grandad Poetry #9 remix from a few years back. i kinda gave up on it, until i recently posted for Grinny and he got really excited about it. so as a bonus, i will touch it up and refresh it a bit

stay tuned.

will post right here.

also will be playing a friend's New Year's Eve party, mixing some of the old with the new. hopefully get some recordings. gonna be a band, some rappers, and a DJ. should be interesting. working on a brand spanking new track to drop at the party.

thanks guys for all the props.

keep downloading...

leach them,
spread them,
share them,

and most of all, enjoy them,
-NR-
