New album Sounds Of the Universe out in April with the new single "Wrong", heard some clips and sounds like its gonna be an darker experimential one!

Any depeche fans here?

Depeche Mode and Prodigy are both from Essex too, DM started in 1980 and Prodigy started in 1990, both are very influential and successful electronic based bands, always thought that was awesome, just 10 years apart different scenes (Electro / Rave).

just downloaded the leak for the new album and... it sucks.

i had high hopes for this album after hearing "wrong" but i am disappointed with "Sounds of the universe"

Its not dark sounding enough, its an album of electronic ballads, too many duets with martin. Daves voice has gone up an octave in the last few albums which i dont like and is most evident on this album.

this album is a lot like "exciter" which was another album i didnt like, "playing the angel" was better, this album is a step back.

Been a fan for 12 years, i will only say Alan Wilder should have never left.

Not bad, agree though about not being dark enough, needs to get back on the gear (jking)

but I have to listen to it a few more times before I make up my mind, but yeah it's not dark and too many slow tracks, Wrong seemed a good start.

It's disapointing.
I only like the last track of the album.

this album is so bad, i can't believe it.
totally uninspired garbage, no melodies, no emotions. what a waste.

the most recent Alan Wilder (Recoil) album "Subhuman" pisses all over the new depeche one, when i listen to his production i miss the fact that he is not in DM anymore.

Maybe Dave Gahan should get alan to produce his next solo album and we might get close to that vintage DM sound again.

Another thing i hate about "Sounds of the Universe" is Martin Gores backing vocals ruin most of the tracks, he sounds like a female singer - why not just have dave sing?
