It's specially good for me, as not only does it fall on our pub quiz night, I don't have to go to work tomorrow. Awesomeness. 8-)

Something really cheered me yesterday. Some of you may remember last year I was sacked from work for supposedly stealing company property. Well, over the last nine months I've been going through the process of an industrial tribunal for unfair dismissal. Yesterday was the last day of the tribunal, and it appears that I've won.
I'll find out in a month or so how much compensation I'll get, but for me that was never the point of me going though with this. It was to clear my name and prevent my ex-boss from ever thinking he could get away with it ever again. From what I could gather, it seems that one of my colleagues had put 2 and 2 together and made 5. Then they told two other people who then told a senior engineer, who in turn told my ex-service manager who went to the boss and without any investigation he just sacked me on the next working day with no forewarning.
When I applied for an appeal they turned me down flat, so I got a solicitor involved and ACAS (a government body who regulate work practices) took on my case. They did then grant an appeal, but nowhere near to my satisfaction (the guy wouldn't answer any of my questions) so I was advised to go all the way and get a barrister. It's cost both me and my dad a lot of money, but the end result was definately worth it. Apparently my ex-boss' barrister cost 3 times what mine did, and he still couldn't fight the case well. What 'evidence' they had was shaky at best and the seven witnesses, who became involved over that period between the dismissal and the appeal all gave statements dated nearly two months after the date of my dismissal, not before. In short, my barrister fucking destroyed them.

For me the absolute best thing was seeing my ex-boss' face when they ruled in my favour. I'll remember that moment for ever. It was fucking great.

So, over this whole palava I've probably lost a few friends, but I've kept my dignity, and most importantly, my reputation. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. Life is good again. 8-)

Not really lol but the atmosphere here in Dublin is fantastic. I can't wait to go out and enjoy the night with the family and mates.

Plus we can take the piss out of the tourists too.

Simple pleasures. Going to the pub and talking for hours about nothing in particular.

Also, potential new job.

And a big ass version of my dino:

Now thats a badass gif there Jets haha.

Toured a broadcast/production studio and met with studio manager who implored me to intern with the studio. Seems like a cool place but it doesn't really fit into what I had in mind with my future plans. Most of the guys there were really cool and all seemed to echo the same sentiment that the entertainment biz is hard to crack. I won't be dismayed by the biz but I may intern for the broadcast exp. Fun day (except for the weather. 2 1/2 inches of snow Saturday into Sunday and now its 70 outside)

Edit because I forgot to mention that I got use a 3D camera to shoot some butterflies. FUCKING cool!!! The studio rendered a few seconds and fuck it's exciting so see something like that and know you created it.

that 3d camera stuff sounds like the real deal.

What cheered me up is I became promoted today, so that's a lil' bit of cash more each month :D

'Practical driving test - Appointment confirmation:
I am pleased to confirm the details of your B - Car practical driving test appointment

Test Date: MONDAY 17/05/2010 Test Start time : 08:40 '

Wooooooooohoooooooooo!

When I pass my test I will be banging out my Prodigy music full whack driving down to Essex feeling like I'm on top of the world!
Cant wait to feel some freedom, and the wind blowing against my arm as I'm hanging it outta the window with Experience on driving down the high street in the hot sunshine of summer.
Oh how my days of walking will be a thing of the past!

Perfect timing. Middle of the rush hour, everyone around you will be still asleep/ pissed off because they're trying to get to work on a Monday, so you're gonna be tested properly!

(Nah, it'll be really easy. Traffic won't be moving at that time)
