I hope I'm wrong, but... after all this time, a guy that bought 5 copies... in Russia...
Checkin his Ebay feedback you can see this auction he won:
Code: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180699682526
and then, check out pictures he sent me of that tape:
Comparing both images of the tape, you can see it's the same:
So....a "great" fake IMO, as you can use the cover from Discogs and make the inlay cover at home using photoshop

the only question I have regarding this article, is the following, we concluded to be false by the evidence we have, but where he got the tape contents, ie the 4 songs that compose it, I think it's difficult to get the subjects are not for the first three that we find in other references but the 4 issue, not Skylined not heard before?
We could find out on vinyl on ebay.

Well, if someone gets the audio cassette, we can compare with the vinyl, when you receive it we can compare the songs, I think if it were real cassette tape should be the same songs

only way to know if this is a legit versions of the tape is to talk to someone on here that has the 100% real version of it and we can compare pictures , according to discogs Arie and APTEM have the tape , maybe we can talk them into uploading a high quality picture of the tape to compare , my belief is the guy whos selling the tape might have the original and he figured he can duplicate it and make money by selling the duplicates , the black and white cover would be pretty easy to photocopy even , and if the tape was only 4 tracks it would be pretty easy to spot a fake as companies like XL would use a tape appropriate to track lenght so if both tracks added up to 10 minutes they would use a 10 minute tape , the tapes the guy bought were 60-62 minutes so if he recorded 2 tracks on a 60 minute tape there would be lot of silence theres other ways to check the authenticity as well but i dont want to give out too much info plus i would need to have the actual tape / bootleg tape that hes selling to determin wether or not he bootlegged it.

You're right, I would like to know if we have information about specific songs and duration that has the tape, if we knew it is the same content as the vinyl, I can provide information upon receipt of the vinyl I acquired recently.

you can cut the tape out but that will leave inconsistencies , for example the leader strip would be really hard to reattach to the actual tape without the propper equipment , it would just look too obvious , anyways here are some pictures that i got from the guy and i can tell you right away this aint the real deal , its a really good fake though , #1 XL would most likely silk screen at least the title and THE PRODIGY on the cassette , #2 if you look at the ware marks on the cassette they are inconsistant with regular up and down motion of inserting a cassette into a tape player , they are not straight they go diagonal , my guess some masking tape to mask the rest of the tape off and some high grit sandpaper hence the unevenness of the marks # 3 XL would most likely not put the word "Promo" on the spine of the cover let alone spelled with capitol "P" and lower case "romo" and in parentesis to top that all off, its inconsistant with the rest of the type on the spine wich is all capitalized , and it just dosnt go well with "ADVANCED CASSETTE" on the front cover . # 4 the graininess of the print is not even if you look at the pattern its not consistent with an original but rather with a cheap xerox/printer reprint , im not sure if XL would go the cheap route and create one cover and run the rest on a copy machine , just unprofessional in my opinion , also the spine seems to be too solid compared to the grainy print on the front and the inside of the cover. this is my analysis for all its worth , im not going to be bidding $500 dollars on a bootleg so its all yours , the positive side of this is that we at least got track times from the inside of the cassette cover , 2 of them are cut off but we can cross reffrence maybe with the vinyl ?,,,,,

Why are there 2 different XL logos? and would a Radio Edit really be 5:45?
