You know actual drums. Lots of snare drum and the feeling of the rhythm of drum set. I prefer BEATS that Liam used to make from samples or a drum machine would make. Pownding computer beats that a drummer could not play.

TDIME and WF is better than most if not all of the songs i hear on clubs , radio or tv from other artists of the genre. Yeah he is not what he used to be. I'm sad i wont get an album as good as MFTJG and FOTL again but still he is better than everyone else and you are too hard on him. thats absolutely fine mate, but its YOUR subjective opinion...granted it might be also a majority opinion, however it does not make it fact. i respect that you dont like X,Y or Z...thats fine. You might like eating oranges and not apples...but i like eating apples and not oranges. Its those that come out all guns blazing to flame anyone who voices an opinion that is against the grain on here...thats where it starts getting silly. regardless of how harsh someone might word themselves, let them speak! it creates a (supposedly) adult, mature, subjective conversation based around a common thread...the prodigy. When did i told you to stfu? Of course you can speak. I just think that you are too hard on him considering he is writing music for 25 yrs. About the ''fact or opinion thing''...well when the majority of the older fans, other artists, reporters, people of the music industry ect ect ect agree that Liam's 90's work was his best...well it is not a fact if you see the dictionary defeanition but something similar. Yeah you can say i like more AONO over MFTJG but when you say AONO is a better album you do not know your music. i think some of this might be lost in translation here, but you didnt tell me to do anything and i didnt tell you to either? his older stuff is arguably better yes, but, (im beating a dead horse here im gunna stop after this post) its an opinion. of which i respect and wont loose any sleep over, nor bash you round the head with that opinion for having it. i give up. ive said my piece, if off to go live under somebodies stairs. inabit

Wait, someone ACTUALLY heard the FULL ALBUM? And is Wild Frontier the worst one? Is there a few tracks that blows the crap out of FOTL? Please tell.

some1 has to defend Liam you want whole album to be dark and violent because he said so in an interview, fine but there's room for everything, just like on IMD which had every kind of Prodge track you could have (including some side stuff like Commanche which was a great add to live set) I wouldn't mind dark dirty bangers one after another, but honestly I prefer diversity in tracks, they don't have to punch me in the face with every single track (like TDIME) I want to dance sometimes you know as for the current sound, well for me they're defined with tracks like TDIME, WOF, Poison chapter 2, TMTTH and especially Rockweiler, going straight for the jugular and with stuff like Wild Frontier, which I hope will replace Omen as a vocal track, they can mix stuff a bit and be versatile on stage you would never survive a set filled ONLY with hard hitters, that's nonsensical, so thank Liam that he's including some air breathers (Omen Reprise) or some lighter tunes (Nasty I guess) TDIME 10/10 (smack can rest on a shelf for time being) Wild Frontier 8/10 (makes me wanna move, and fast) Nasty 6/10 (never grew on me, needs beefing up for live use) Rockweiler 10/10 (if it stays that way, just rad) Get your fight on ?/10 (gets old fast, hoping for good rework)

I understand what you say ...but you are too hard on him no matter your taste. Also none told you to stop posting because you do not like his latest stuff.

Nightmare wrote: Wild Frontier and Rhythm Bomb are two melodic, positive bangers and that's all. I dont like Wild Frontier... no... I HATE IT but this is the only track against the rest from The Day Is My Enemy album. Rhythm Bomb is decent, yeah. Doesn't sound very Prodigy though, which might be a problem for some. It's very heavy. It'll be a nice shift change for the album though.

Can someone give me an example of what a violent tune sounds like? What is a violent sound? What sounds violent to someone might not sound as violent to others. People hear a word and think they know to the exact point how it will sound. Then when record is released, its nothing but disappontment among the fans. Thats disappointing.
I see people expect a new oldskool hardcore record, a new jilted, new fotl...
... ITS NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!
So stop expecting it. It has been the same bullshit since 1998.
Also, video is cool. I hate videos where the artists just stands in a corner for a few secs, then next scene, THEY ARE RUNNING!!! and then keith sings to a wall with a hole in it!!!! DAAAAMN WHAT A VIDEO!!!! Yes much excitement, such bullshit.
New album sounds far better than anything i expected and i have myself and prodigy to thank for that.

I just don't see the point in having to compare albums to judge if something is good or if you enjoy it. Each album is their own thing. If you're expecting some nostalgic return to the Jilted or FotL days, you're deluding yourself.
Liam has moved on, he has changed since then, he's writing what he wants to write now. It doesn't make him any less of a producer. He's just not producing music that you like, which doesn't make him a shitty producer.
Any good album is gonna divide fans. But I'm sorry, you're not gonna get a Jilted Pt. 2 or FotL Pt. 2
I love Experience, Jilted, FotL just as much as anyone, but I don't feel the need to have to hold the new album up against their previous albums to decide if I like it or not. I enjoy each album in their own way. I didn't put any expectations on this album at all, I just wanted to get something that sounds like The Prodigy. And Liam delivered on that.
Most folks seem to want some sort of cathartic experience that they had in their early tween years... It's not gonna happen, folks.

Why do we even have to talk about this? Wasn't the whole idea of Prodigy records that they all sound different to each other?
That aside, it can be stated that his values of changed. It's more about prime feelings on the surface ("VIOLENCE!") rather than what drove the majority of the 90's output (atmosphere, weird things happening, unexpected shit, GROOVE, still combined with that relentless energy). My biggest gripe personally is the absence of PHATness, which has mostly been replaced with a sort of flat distortion and out-of-the-can beats that don't really massage my spoiled lil belly all that much anymore. There's this sort of precise basses and kicks gone, that made many producers look up to Liams writing and especially production skills. Maybe he found that to be too much work these days (some interviews make him sound a bit -well- lazy in that respect). After all these years - why the hell not. He earned his vacation. He's proven enough. If he was to release a twelve-track album consisting only of various sorts of bass drums in various tempi that'd still not render his past achievements worthless and I'd still adore his musical mind as I did and do.
But that doesn't mean we can't look at the whole thing and say that he's taking a lighter and less creative approach these days. Some people like it, some don't. I belong to the group of people who drooled and dribbled over Howlett beats until '02 and still can't figure out how to pull these of. If I suddenly hear presettish sounding stuff in his tunes while he actually goes on in interviews about how he hates to hear presets I can't help think he's living in his own little sonic sphere. Funny thing is, he probably feels like he's working harder these days than on Jilted or FOTL, which, according to a hand full of interviews, were, despite some writers block issues, writing themselves quite gel-y. My dear english native friends, I'm making up words again, please forgive me.
