Wild frontier remixes. Available tommorow. From the prodigy officiall fb.

It says "Full Wild Frontier remixes available exclusively on Beatport Monday 16th March" here: -
https://soundcloud.com/search?q=the%20p ... 20frontier

So that will be £1.30 per track for 320 Kbps mp3 (more for FLAC/WAV)? Fuck that. How can it cost more for a 3 or 4 track digital release than it used to cost for a CD/Vinyl single?

I'm hoping it will show up on Qobuz as well after few days!

I think the Killsonik one is OK.

By the way, why did they never ask any of the fans to have a go at an official remix? There are so many talented people on the fan sites, and they would put a lot more effort into it. I know that there is probably not as much money in it, as making established artists remix (and printing overpriced arty posters and photo books), but it would be a nice nod back at all the fans who send millions of pounds their way over the years.

Like a "Girls remix competition", but in real life

Not really enough time for a remix competition... there's not even a month between the main single track premiere and the remix release. So it would be tough to do. If you release a brand new track and then do a remix competition for it, by the time the winning remix is selected and actual remix release is out, the buzz of the new track will be gone.

It would be best to do a competition like that after the album release.

I know, hence the past tense :) But if it was a public remix competition, the track or sample pack would come out in the open anyway, and it would be better to do it after a release. Any way, too late now.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah it would be cool.

I imagine the "Girls" competition went kaput due to the sampling issues. "Girls" is pretty much one big combination of samples. So is a song like "Smack My Bitch Up," but with "Girls" the samples are more prominent and unaltered. Sure, Liam got the rights to release the song as is with the way the samples were used within the song, but it's much different when doing a remix comp and giving those samples out as individual stems for folks to remix. I imagine that's what killed the "Girls" competition and probably something that Liam didnt really expect, kind of like his issues with Dirtchamber Sessions. It either would have cost too much for a free fan remix competition or he just couldn't get the rights at all for something like that.

And knowing Liam, all the legal mumbo jumbo that killed the "Girls" remix competition like with what forced him to alter Dirtchamber Sessions for release kept him from doing another one.

Dude, there's like two people who could pull off a decent remix. Others are just aspiring farts that shouldn't be nowhere near a computer, let alone a DAW.

Jesse and Killsonik remixes sound fukin good!!
They sound promising. The beginning of the Jesse remix sounds like the sampling I imagined before hearing the actual track the other week. Westerns sounds and noises. Hopefully they use them more then just in the intro. Guessing that's what inspired the single cover art. But that pic and title totally made me think Wild Frontier was gonna be another Wild West and Big Gun Down.
