I really like awol... i liked the live version and i like this studio version just as much...

the rebel radio remix is pretty cool, together with the spor remix of nasty they are 2 of the best remixes of prodigy tunes i've heard in a long time :)

don't like the caspa remix and i didnt like rhythm bomb, this edit won't change it. GYFO re eq seems redundant, still love the tune though!

AWOL strike one... maybe we'll see a strike two sometime?

in my opinion AWOL sounds cool and it's a very unique track in its sound.

tho. it's not in my Top 20 prodigy tracks.

At fukin least IT got relased. and now at least theres 50% bitching and 50% positive posts.. otherwise it would have been next 10 years bitching why it didn't get released..

also i think many tracks we haven't got in studio form are better left to be. in the end it seems they don't turn out
to be top 20 tracks (in my mind, maybe yours)

i think some are just jealous that they don't get the goosebumps any more. and some do. all the cry and blasting others because they write positive posts. let it fukin be. enjoy, or don't. negativity doesn't take things far. even more if u do it over and over.

What's the difference between the album version of GYFO and the Re Eq?

Yo, all!

I'm still waiting for the EP, vinyl and cassette. I got that mail from the store too so I'm guessing I'll have to wait a while. I have been blasting the EP out on repeat these last 2 days in my car since I downloaded the mp3's and FLAC files from the store (listening to it again in my studio as I write this).

My first impressions are that the best things on this EP are the two amazing remixes. I really hear them on repeat a lot. For me both the Rebel Radio remix and the TDIME remix are awesome.

AWOL is nice enough, but for me it reminds me of First Warning - a track that I feel could have been a great studio track, but never really got there. Well, that track was released for a movie and it didn't have vocals on it so this might not be a fair comparison, but that's the way AWOL feels to me... Not quite there (but getting there). There are some nice things about it. Those noises on the track I especially like. Great beginning and ending (except for the ending's cut). I'm missing some of Keith's lyrics on this track too: "Let yourself go!" should have been included. This is one of the best b-sides by the band for a long time, but it won't be memorable as a "Prodigy track". It makes sense that this isn't track 1 on the EP and it makes sense that Liam had to remix it to satisfy himself. Nice B-side, but nothing special, really.

At first I liked the idea of the band releasing EP's - well, as a fan, any hint that you might get more great music frequently from a band that doesn't spit out releases all the time sounds good. But. To be fair, we have gotten some great quality albums over the years. The quality of album tracks have been good, so I hope the EP's will have that same album-quality. If the EP's are gonna be small albums, then great.

Listening to Rhythm Bomb Edit now. At first listen I was very surprised by the middle cut. It sounds a bit weird. I guess I like the album version more. But somehow this version sounds clearer and the edit is more "straight to the point" which is the general idea of an edit. I think maybe people were expecting a Re-EQ like we got on track 1 of this EP: GYFO.

That track is brilliant for me. It really is much clearer in this version and I like the small details that have been added. Seems fresh even though I've listened to the album version A LOT!

By the way: Is it just me or are the mastered volumes of the tracks very different on this EP? To me it seems like the mastered volume of GYFO is much lower than with AWOL, and the remixes are mastered to be higher in volume than the first three tracks (Rebel Radio at least)... Weird.

Yeah I was speculating earlier that Strike Two has probably been planned for a while and that it'll be based on the Bratislava version. Whether that means another EP, an "alternate versions" release, or just a single b-side, we shall have to see.

You guys do realize that there's as big of a chance for AWOL (strike two) to happen as Dirtchamber Sessions Volume 2, right?

Don't auto-Liam yourselves guys.

(having said that, I hope I'm wrong)

Pre-ordered 2 orders on official prodigy store

1st order is Night Is My Friend EP on CD and cassette - actual status is PRE-ORDER
2nd order is Night Is My Frind EP on Vinyl and a shirt

So - the shirt got sent and for the vinyl release I need to wait until september - everything´s fine

BUT

concerning my first order the status is "PRE-ORDER" on CD and cassette

that means it was NOT sent, but release date is juli 31 - .... and the CD version is sold out ????

Someone here has the same problem ? Will it be sent to me ?

Apparently their stock was damaged and there's a delay getting the new ones in.
So you're order is just delayed, but it should ship out this week according to the official e-mail.
