Also, is it safe to play tapes in this machine (is there any paint inside where there shouldn't be)?

yes they have to be correctly. If more than one person answers all the questions correctly the best quote will be picked.
We have no idea if its safe to play a tape on the player... the winner will know.
The questions are not simple, but for long fans its not that hard to know or find the correct answers.

Best not to test the Minefields Advance Cassette in this then?
