i agree mate! its likely to be bonkers...but hopefully its ok bonkers and listenable...some of the aphex stuff is just like, unlistenable.

but syro is an amazing album. ive listened to it loads and loads since i bought it. hes not lost a step whatsoever...and i like the fact that hes toned it down for Syro too. its still very intelligent, but stuff has a structure and goes somewhere! i have been rocking his 'classics' CD in the car this week and some of it is just mad noise. im glad Syro has structured songs.

i also got Caustic Window these past couple of weeks too. i can see why he didnt realise it at the time but its still an interesting listen.

listening to it, it seems different

everything from Richard is different. Listened new ep a few times - it's weird, different and very good.

it's not bad
kinda funky, jazzy
half of it's just noodling/half it more full on songs
but feels more like an experimentation

'Special limited release' music really annoys me. If you're going to release music then make it available to everyone who wants to buy it (via CD/Vinyl/Digital). 12" vinyl white label limited to 1000 copies and the like really annoys me. It's like when an artist give a track away but then they release it at 192 Kbps mp3 or worse. Why wouldn't they want their music to be heard in the best quality possible?
