Let's not get silly again.

Dear NEOREV,

I had this (naive - I admit) thought of your post referring to me because of the several statements in it. If this is not the case, and you just referred in general to any non-frequent (or non-poster) with a strong preference towards the older era tracks, that comes and criticizes the tracks, than please forgive my premature jumping to the conclusion. I just by accident happen to fill that criteria quite well :)

Of course it had this initial warm feeling, that yes, there is at least someone on that forum that pays great attention to what I write. If you don't mind, I would keep that feeling as it is really nice to [assume] that there is someone focused on me, even if in reality this is not the case :)

My post was a blanket statement covering the many who come out of nowhere who havent posted since the last album to bitch once again. You see the same people who bitched about IMD then disappear, come back for TDIME to bitch then disappear, and are back at it again.

Hey guyz, yeah, I didn't like Need Some1, Howlett lost it after The Fat of the Land IMO. See you when the next album gets released. Ciao.

Dear NEOREV,

now I understand.

Just to finish this side-thread in this thread - again, I do hope the overall album will be of high quality.

I grew up with Prodigy, it triggered and shaped my musical tastes. I acknowledge the fact of life, that not all they release will please me. I just hope that, as in the past, the amount of good stuff from the band will be much higher than the amount of lower quality [again, just my opinion]. Looking forward to the whole album.

PS. on a plus side - I really like the cover art a lot :)

Hey, I'm cool if someone doesn't have a positive reaction to something or doesn't like something. It's when your every post is negative and bringing that same negativity into multiple threads is where I take issue. We get it. It's like these people need the world to be in the presence of their hate and negativity. Then the same person tries to make those who do like it feel like shit and something is wrong with them liking it. When one goes this overboard, I can't tell if I'm dealing with a grown up or a child.

I'm a bit dissapointed with the single and the video. Never before was a single not a huge track on the upcoming album (save one love and full throttle ). Say whay you want about Nasty, or IMD, but they are part of the strongest tracks on the albums they represent.

so.....what to make of the album? so far all snippets sound a lot more to my taste, so I still have high hopes!

PS: I like how serious Liam is about producing these days again. Aono was a bit underproduced, but every single track since has a lot of detail in it. Can see what she meant with "my dad working soooo hard on this one".

I love this one, loved the live recordings, love it now! Gonna listen to it lots and lots of times this weekend.

... even though it's, as always, a bit sterile. I loved AONO too btw, for reference. I Need Some1 is a tad bit too clean for my taste, still rocks though, a lot...

Off topic: Liam really needs to cut back the mastering, songs before IMD were so dirty and had flaws and twerks and what not... more depth.

On topic:
Also, the video feels like a step into a new direction with fewer references to the band, more generic. Even though, or because of that, I favour this video over almost any other video so far since the TFOL videos (those were genius, IMD has a cool video as well).

Generic is the term here. And it works well. Just like Nasty (even I hated that one on the first listen). My expectations play a huge part here, since I had basically none compared to the TDIME era.

Ive been a fan of the prodigy since 1991 i love everything they do yes i have favourites and some less favourites
regardless what they release ill listen to it my point is regardless of what they release if youre a big fan you'll support whatever they do and not take the opportunity to moan about everything they do.
Yes everyone is aloud an opinion but sometimes when i read stuff on the internet it just looks like people behind keyboards moaning for the sake of it , ive been using this forum for 14 years and people like this have nearlly made me quit this forum in the past but im still here.

People just use the internet to bitch and moan. Rarely do they praise anything because why would they? Bitching is what they live for. Probably why the internet is just a sad cesspool of sad sacks because it makes people feel good to think how they believe something should sound and their pissing and whining matters. They can't wait to run to their keyboard and vomit out their next "What I think" piece.

It's funny how each release pull a bunch of people out of the woods, people who rarely post or come here, who suddenly appear out of nowhere just to bitch again and again. You haven't liked the band since Jilted or FOTL? Then why are you still here? Stop comparing shit to the past. You like an album from earlier? Well, then go listen to it. Always this compare something new to Jilted or FOTL or AONO nonsense. You want those albums? Guess what, they are there for you to listen to right this very second. If you don't like what they are doing now then why waste a moment of your life just to spread more vitriol? Just move on with your life.

Witness the sickness.

Of course giving out too much and many drastic bad opinions on something is not productive at all and, I admit it, after some time, I understood that it's silly comparing the nowadays prodigy to jilted or fat of the land era. However I guess there is nothing bad just giving opinions (otherwise why are we here)?
Need Some1 is not a bad track at all. It really has some parts that I like (beats, vocals), but I don't get why it should deserve so much attention than a track as resonate, for instance.
I don't criticize the guys and I'm not moaning. I'm just wondering why, for instance, a track as rebel radio deserve less than a track as get your fight on or ibiza, or why warning should become first warning (not for its name, but musically).
However, this kind of music still keeps my desire alive and this is why (thinking to tracks such as Resonate), I think that "No Tourists" will have good surprises. Let's see.

Was there anything bad in my intervention?
And then, why shouldn't I give my opinion? Should I only read and say that I like everything new coming out (and I like it)?
I don't think there would make so much sense...

offtopic thoughts

If I poorly categorize the people/fans posting here (I specifically said posting, not visiting) that would be.

1) Die hard fans. Fans who visit this forum even every day, not only when many new things happen, but also the silent years. Some registered way back in the 56K modem era long before Sep 2006 restart of BK. Some of them are so die hard, that maybe know whats Liam's favorite drink or socks brand. Kidding of course you got my point.

2) Just Prodigy fans. People who also know well the Prodigy stuff and come here once in a while to check if there is something new, a remix or a live gig clip etc.

3) Prodigy fans sometime in the past. OK you being a fan in MFTJG or TFOTL era when the band was more popular, or because you just following them on FB and Instagram and saw an announcement on your feed, doesn't make you NOW a fan. You like EDM and other like 50 bands/artists, like we do, but Prodigy are not your favorite or top5 to say the least.

This is not a Fan-O-Meter post. Neither a competition who has the biggest Prodigy dick or opinion value.

People in the third category you have the every right to express your opinion in a public forum like this. And *maybe* you are more objective on the matter, because hype doesn't affect you like me. But when some of you are only posting once in every 4 years, with ONLY negativity and trash, be ready in best case scenario to be ignored, or worst case scenario to be also judged with negativity. Because guess what... we also have the right to express our opinion. This is not FB/reddit, it is a FAN forum.

People in the other categories, especially the first. I also feel sad when I read bad comments (especially from randoms) about something I love. We must just deal with it, hoping they clarify why they feel that way. They have the every right. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we disagree, and sometimes we have to agree to disagree. We can't put a rule "hey you only have 3 posts, you are not allowed to speak" thing.

PS: Mods feel free to delete this cause offtopic.
