The music of the Prodigy has changed to please live situations. Needsome1 and Fight! are good examples. They smash it in live shows but not that well when when played by a DJ at a club or when you are listening those while jogging, with your home stereos or in your car. The are made ONLY for the live audience.
This is at same time understandable because Liam has numerous times told in the interviews that their music nowadays is 1st hand for live shows but to some of us longtime fans it has been also a let down because we have used to enjoy the Prodigy music wherever it is played. The older tunes still work no matter how or where you enjoy them. +1 also critique is important (even if it's just to vent) and surely it's not something that you have to agree with. Fans are not a hive mind. Some people are weird to enjoy every single thing the Prodigy has ever done. This may also be a cultural thing as I myself regularly bitch about things on a daily basis

And you both are saying made up statements like that there aren't many fans left, glory days are long over. When you both didn't even attend any of these SOLD OUT shows yourself. Saying stuff like that is either trolling which is not that terrible because you have those people everywhere. Or you both are just fucking idiots which is I'm afraid is even worse. And it is actually very sad. Get it together please and try to listen what everyone here is trying to say to you. Yes, some people writing things for a while now, because they noticing things for a while now. Few small sold out shows in UK only and some summer festivals showings with same songs playing over and over again for years and with one new track which some like/some not, hinted months ago but still obviously unfinished. If this is enaugh for you, good for you. And is Prodigy only for few thousands of people who attent the shows, or for the fans all around the world. Prodigy is also not live-only band and some fans obviously want more and better. I hope there will be more new fans, and I hope glory days aren't over, but at the moment it's not looking like it. Why try to listen what some of you here is trying to say because you just defending the band no matter what and contradict everybody whoever and whenever they said something you don't like. It's not trolling, it's just criticism, and I believe deserved one. And if you allow yourself to call people "fuckin idiots" for that, that only showning who you are. Nobody is an idiot, it's just dissatisfied fans and they are allowed to be dissatisfied and they are allowed to complain. Some people feel hurt because of this and take it personally, but if things get better with the band, all complaints will disappear or be reduced significantly.

Yes, we called fanboys fanboys because that's what they are, an example of people who will always like everything no matter how uninspired or bad it is just because it comes from a favorite source (every fanbase have them). We never have problem people enjoying something, we just want to show that not everyone enjoys it. We don't wish anything bad, neither for the fans nor the band, but we want it to be better. You keep saying that people hate the band, I already told you that it's stupid to equate criticism with hatred. Criticism from fans comes because people care, they notice that things aren't the best and they want it to improve. Those who hate the band are certainly not here or in similar groups. You are the one who doesn't let others have their say, immediately contradicts everyon. You are the one who calls people names, the one who insults other fans and calling them cunts, doesn't respect anyone and acts like the forum is yours. You are the one without whom this forum would be better because of people like you, many have left it, a quite arrogant moderator who shouldn't have been given that privilege. And you are not a Prodigy fan, because fans don't behave like that. I'm the one that calls people names... coming from the guy who literally began all this by calling people names. Again, you think I'm triggered by the word fanboy. But you clearly do have a problem with anyone who enjoys the track. Hence why both you and jonyintheplace began your critiques by attacking those people. And again, everyone here can express their negative or positive opinion. No one is stopping them. I said just don't be a cunt about it when you do so. As in don't spend your posts shitting on anyone who likes the new song. Simply state your opinion on why you don't like the song. And your posts began on giving people shit who say something positive about the new track and also hating on fanboys. So yes, your posts had hatred in them as you clearly stated there's a section of The Prodigy audience that you don't like. You clearly don't respect those people's opinions. And then wonder why you find less and less people interacting with you here. They're just tired of seeing the same posts from the same people over and over again. We already know everything they'e going to say because they've said it a thousand times before. And people speak out when they see someone trying to shame or attack part of the fanbase for liking something. This is what some folk don't seem to understand. The complaints keep coming from the very same people over and over again. And as an admin, I must say something about it when I got people messaging me about it. Many hardcore fans left for other communities and platforms that are more enjoyable to be on.

Liam ain't gonna suddenly change his sound this is late into his career. Because it works. Maybe if he went solo or produced for other people, but not as The Prodigy. Back with AONO V1, he tried to give us a FOTL Pt. 2, which is what fans wanted. And when he dropped BGAT, people were like, "This just FOTL Pt. 2." So Liam scrapped it, went back into the studio, and delivered something completely different. And people were like, "I don't like this because this doesn't sound like The Prodigy."
So Liam eventually went back to the studio and distilled what The Prodigy were known for into his own signature sound. IMD drops and it explodes. The band is reignited as well as the audience. So obviously he ain't gonna fix what's not broken. Would I be annoyed if Liam switched up his sound on the next album? Of course not. But I also don't expect him to. Again, because it works. Because it continues to sell out gigs. And I can still enjoy it because I'm here to hear The Prodigy. I'm not expecting some other artist or some other sound. There are plenty of other artists out there that I can check out if I want something different.
And to be honest, in this day and age, the album isn't really the focal point anymore. It's the live show. It's not like the 90s when albums made money. Live shows used to be there to promote the album and make some extra money. But now the live shows are where the money is. And the album is there to make you want to go to the live shows. So Liam writes tracks that will hit live, that when you listen to the album, you go, "I wanna hear this live." He's not gonna suddenly make an at home listening album. Perhaps after they stop playing shows. But the shows are what inspire Liam to make music anyway. I always said I wanted Liam do a hip hop album where he works with different rappers.
The Prodigy community is the only community I've seen where some fans demand the artist go make something completely different. "Don't sound like The Prodigy." It's kinda weird. Because I've seen some bands go so far away from their sound where fans are begging them to do anything nearly resembling what they were known for. I don't understand this expectation for a band to not be who they are. Even now, when Liam dropped Disrupt Ya Flow, you see people slamming it as sounding too Prodigy while at the same time, there are many people who loved it. Then those same people who love Disrupt Ya Flow are slamming Fight! for sounding too much like The Prodigy.
I still think Liam is making classics. Thunder, Warrior's Dance, The Big Gundown, Rebel Radio, Wall Of Death, We Live Forever, Timebomb Zone. And I also realize how special it is that we still have the band making music and performing live after everything that happened. I for one am happy what happened with Keith wasn't how The Prodigy ended. We are lucky to still have the chance to see them live. Because a future where we have no hope for a new Prodigy album or show or tour is a sad one. Everything we've gotten since Keith passed is a bonus. And I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts.
