Just finished another drum&bass track, www.myspace.com/joeyewen
As opposed to my other 2 drum&bass tracks which were quite loud, I tried to create an ambient effect with the pads in this one.
Feedback from other drum&bass producers would be appreciated.

What do you mean by this? I'm not sure if you're saying I'm not good enough to be considered a producer or if you're saying I didn't create my tunes. Clarify please.

Good to see your're sticking up for your best friend.
I create music too, I've been doing so since I was 13 or 14, but I introduce myself to people as a student, not a "producer" of hardcore braindance/hardcore digiprog/psychedelic whatever.
Anyone, at any age, can make music, there's nothing hard to beleive about that. The term "producer" implies it to be a profession, and not some kid playing with his software when he gets home from school.

producer = a person who produces
so if we "produce" music, we are producers.
I guess we've got different views on the word.

by dictionary definition, yes. but by real world definition, no.
if i produce a fart, am i a producer? i think not.... if i lend you a pound, am i a bank? no.
no-one except you is going to see you as a producer mate. sorry to bust your bubble.
