Junkie Xl has a new album (entitled 'Booming back at you') coming out this month. There's a track on there 'Booming at you', which uses almost exactly the same synth riff as used in 'Girls' - beat resembles too. Not the first time for mister Holkenborg (JXL); back in 1997 he ripped off the 'Smack my bitch up' beats for a track called 'Dealing with the roster'. Can remember that Liam was't too happy with that at the time.
Maybe Holkenborg changed the synth line in 'Booming at you' just enough to avoid copyright issues. What do you guys/girls think?
P.S. New JXL album can be dowloaded from the internet...

Well, Liam ripped of other artists for the synth riff in girls [D Train - "You're The One For Me"] and the beat in smbu [ultramagnetic mc's if Im not mistaken...it's pretty generic anyways], so I don't see the problem...

but liam has enough of his own unique signature in his tunes, he copies things like everyone does but in the end they always turn out as real 'prodigy' tracks.
junkie didnt really have the ability to turn things into a tipical junkie xl track, if you listen to dealing with the roster and billy club.

liams like the lord of samples, i aint herd anyone who can turn original tracks made in the ancient days and turn it into a number one, liams really smart with what he does with samples, JXL aint, but on a good point, at least it isn't castbreeder again.
btw did junkie not get like totally sued for doing the castbreeder

haven't heard the track and album yet, but it was more like Junkie XL sounded like The Prodigy and I can remember an interview on MTV or w/e back then that the Junkie was in the forplay of the Prodge and they heard it in the back and recognized the beats they use have as well
then we had castbreeder which isnt Jxl and just a hoax and rip off....
and now we have a track that sounds a bit like Girls .... big deal?
ps. Rudeboy *urban dance squad* and Tom Holkenburg was a big blast here in Holland bt 10 years ago, saw 'm live 2 times =)

Here is the track :
Code: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=43BUP4ZW
It doesn't sound like girls at all... the melody, from 2:00 -> reminds me of girls, but I don't see how that can be a rip off... I could find other tracks from other artists thats more rip off then this one..
I like this track!
Kick up the volume, play it loud

thanks for the upload. the melody at 2:00 is extremely identical, but the overal feel is nothing alike. this part was ripped by liam as well actually

I haven't listened to the track, but Liam has a billion uncleared samples just like every other musician, so can't pick and choose which ones are ok to use and which ones aren't.

liam sort of copied the style of JXL's "action radius" into "action radar" but this time action radar was very bad =P
but well, its electronic music, nothing new people move on >_>

I think it rips off Daft Punk's Da Funk more than Girls...but Mr. Junkie would never had used D Train riff if Liam hadn't used it first.
...but this booming at ya track is pretty fucking unoriginal for a 2008 release...should've been released 10 years ago...
