i didn't say pendulum use a laptop live, i'm just not a fan of it.

spinning records, or playing live using a computer can't generate energy or vibe live like some other instruments can. that's why pendulum got a drummer and a guitarist out in there set the other night. and as mr cavs said, it rocked. such a sensation can rarely be achieved through the use of turntables and computer equipment.

that's pretty much why i said, if history has taught us anything it's never sound the same way twice. critics and skeptics will begin to think pendulum is stuck with the same formula over and over.

evolution can be good and bad. think prodigy.. fotl to aono.. eek.. but jilted to fotl very good evolution and perfect timing with the scene shifting at that time

watching that intro and slam video i see ducked off to the left they're on the decks with a laptop up and running. most likely ableton for live loop effects. plus it's a little too convienient for them to have that many changes to the slam track on the fly without premaking it up on dubplate.

good videos though, not what i was expecting thats for sure.

Wow that is pretty cool. Totally not what I was expecting, but yeah I think they will really be the "new Prodigy". They seem to be on the same path. I think they will really draw in a lot of mainstream fans to D&B, and evolve their sound into a more D&B/electronic sound... and no doubt will become the most hated act by hardcore D&B heads lol.

Can use this to do it. Can someone post up mp3's of the two Pendulum songs please? I can't do it on this bucket at the moment.

The live mix of Slam kinda reminds me of Warning.

Definitely a drum and bass influence in that tune.
