radiohead were mastering their album in july 2007 and then released it in october, and there was like 18 tracks in total

so the prodigy album shouldnt take that long :D

im not an expert in mastering or mixing but how long does it usually take?

depends on the material, the style, how good the mixes are, on the experience of the mastering engi, on the bands / labels specific wishes and the money.
I'd say around 1-3 months, no longer. 11 Tracks can be done in 3-4 weeks.

With Emily @ The Lodge on board, not very long at all. Estimate two/three months tops.

Doesn't mastering also involve picking the tracks? I gotta assume they did 20 or so tracks. I would imagine several tracks will be kept aside for b-side releases, bonus tracks, etc.

He said "we are at final stage of mastering"! Isn't this mean that mastering will be finished soon, not just started?
